Jamie Schachtel has been at the forefront of design and fashion for over 25 years.
She began her career as a women’s couture clothing designer and manufacturer.
This led to designing and planning infant and juvenile rooms as the owner and
operator of a high end retail juvenile furniture store in the heart of Chicago’s Lincoln
Park District. Her career progressed toward interiors where she has created a name
for herself as one of Chicagoland’s premiere interior designers.
Jamie specializes in creating innovative and livable environments to suit her client’s
desires. Many years of listening, understanding, and designing have led her to create
a line of furniture that encompasses her visions of high design and home function.
The concept is to create harmony in space - so no matter what the situation entails
the pieces remain usable and chic. This synthesis of great ideas and design created
COUEF, Inc., which stands for:
Chair * Ottoman * Upholstered * End Table * Furniture.
In addition to Jamie Schachtel’s leadership, her team includes Danielle and Jared
Yucht. Danielle has been Jamie’s partner for over 2 years as well as her operations
manager since 2004. Her expertise in business administration, retail sales, and
interior design led Jamie to make her a partner on both her merits and
accomplishments. Jared came into the business with a long history in finance and
management. He has taken on the leadership role of operations and organization of
Couef, Inc. allowing Jamie and Danielle to continue to create and promote their
designs, as well as, run the day to day operations of the Jamie Schachtel Design
Group. As a team Couef, Inc. works together to bring the finest quality
productions to market.
